“Through my research, I’ve found that large-scale patterns of temperature change have developed over the past four to six decades. “In this competition, I wanted everyone to realize that although global warming can be a scary topic, we do have the capabilities to examine it in detail by analyzing data,” said Ken. Ken has been an Alteryx ACE since 2015, and he recently presented an Inspire breakout session, where he shared the results of 8 years of transformational research using Alteryx Designer to explain worldwide climate change patterns.Īfter attending Ken’s Inspire breakout session, Jennifer Yuen, ESG & Sustainability Manager, and Margaux Sellnau, Social Impact intern, partnered with Ken in order to create the E-Grand Prix, with the goal being to bring more visibility of his climate change research to the internal Alteryx community. Ken Black is a Senior Data Scientist at General Motors, where he has worked for over 7 years in the field of advanced analytics. Over a two-week period that included an Alteryx Designer workshop, a presentation on climate change and the opportunity to compete in 3 qualifying rounds, over 500 employees from 20 global offices, ranging from associates to our leadership team, showed up in full force to show their support and put their Alteryx Designer skill to the test.

What was the twist with the E-Grand Prix?Īll challenges were designed using worldwide global warming and climate change data, with the goal of conceptualizing and telling the story of climate change through data and using Alteryx Designer.
